My name is Donna. I was born 8/18/63. I lost my Mom on 6/15/11. I took care of her for 18 months before she died. I’ve had seven dreams of her, all very nice ones. Since her passing, I find dimes all over my house. I will also find one dime and one penny – 11 cents. I keep them in the room where I find them. Do you think this is a sign from her? If so, what does it mean? I visit her at the cemetery several times a month and feel her presence around me all the time.

Susyn:
How lovely that you are able to sense the spirit of your mother and interact with her in so many ways. The coins she leaves around for you to find are indeed very specific signs from her.
Much has been written about dime-dropping ghosts.
(You might want to Google this phenomenon to learn more.) It seems it is pretty common for spirits to use these specific coins to get our attention.
The number 10 represents a conclusion; when considered numerologically, it breaks down to a one. One is the beginning and 10 is the completion, so this coin represents the never-ending circle of life. When people die, they are simply reborn into the spirit world; because dimes are circular, they are perfect symbols for the unending cycle of existence. In numerology, the number 11 is believed to carry a very spiritual vibration. It is the number of angels and can indicate a message from the other side.
You didn’t mention if this number held any special meaning for you or your mother, so I am assuming that this is just her special way of touching base with you. Because 11 considered a master number
of the spiritually advanced, it suggests that your mother has reached a higher level of wisdom and spiritual understanding since her passing.
Astrologically, the number 11 represents Aquarius, a sign known for innovative thought and communication. It carries a reputation for defying the conventional and unifying the realms of spirit and humanity. Its ultimate purpose is to bring peace. With that in mind, I believe your mother is telling you that she is at peace and wants you to feel the same. Your mother can also send you signs of her presence and well-being through animals, birds and insects; by way of unexplained aromas you might encounter; and via television or radio, so keep an eye out for those as well.
Though it’s not necessary to go to her gravesite to feel her presence, she does appreciate your visits and the attention you give to her resting place. She might also like it if you plant her favorite flowers in your garden or create a special memory table with her pictures and other keepsakes on it.
The experiences you are having suggest that you have a highly developed intuition and psychic side. I expect that in the future, you and your mother will be able to share even more profound interactions. If it hasn’t happened already, you should begin to hear her voice or receive direct messages from her more each day. By spending regular time in meditation, you can increase your ability to converse with her directly.

What a blessing to feel such inner peace about your relationship with your mother. You do not seem to be burdened by regrets, resentments or remorse over her passing.
While anything is possible in this miraculous universe, I tend to think these are not dimes and pennies from heaven; instead, I think your unconscious mind or inner wisdom has determined that these coins are significant, and because of that, you’re now noticing them. In the past, you would have overlooked them or plopped them into your purse without giving them a second thought.
One of the things human beings do best is create meaning and impose a sense of purpose on the events around us, so don’t hesitate to draw upon your imagination and interpret these events in a way that empowers and/or delights you. Maybe you will deem them a special reminder of your mother, and for the rest of your life, whenever you stumble upon a dime, you will smile and remember her. I like the idea of a dime as a symbol for her because the two middle letters are I M, which you could read as a message from her: I am.
My mother grew up during the Depression. Because she’d get so excited whenever she found a coin, a visiting friend from out of town once hid pennies throughout my mom’s house so my mom would have moments of delight for years to come and also fondly remember her friend with each discovery.
When a particular number keeps jumping out at us and tugging at our attention, it’s worth examining our associations with that number. For you, the number is ten, for a dime is one-tenth of a dollar and a penny is one-tenth of a dime.
Does the number ten hold special meaning for you? Did something memorable happen between you and your mom when you were ten years old? Does the month of October stand out? In tarot, 1 represents Humanity and 0 represents Spirit, so 10 represents partnership between humanity and spirit. In your case, this would be you and your mom.
Perhaps your mom is drawing your attention to the coins for some reason. Did coins hold special meaning for her? What do coins represent to YOU? Although money symbolizes financial security, these coins are of little value, so they might point to simple pleasures rather than material wealth. Perhaps the message from your mom is to stop and smell the roses, or that little things add up!
You might start putting your found coins in a special jar or piggy bank, and when the dimes add up to dollars, buy yourself a special gift in your mother’s memory, or perhaps donate the dollars to a charity in her name.

Many times in life we hear, “You will always have what you NEED, but not necessarily what you WANT.” Your spirit must have needed to experience the feeling of leaving your human body, and the suggestion in the next chapter of Sylvia Brown’s book was all it took to get you there.
Even though you hadn’t read it yet, your SOUL recognized the title of that chapter as something it had been seeking, and your soul, knowing that you had that reference to read after your experience, got with it and out you went!
While I don’t usually recommend her books, Sylvia Brown has a wide reaching and powerful effect on lots of people. A Gemini like you would be able to relate easily to her writing and put it to good use. Synchronicity – you gotta love it!
I like your description of “getting caught.” That’s exactly what it feels like, isn’t it? One minute you’re free and hovering above the room, and the next minute, ZAP! back down into your corporeal form you go!
As a little kid, I loved that “feeling of return.” With practice, most of the time we can control that event, but sometimes, when our physical ears hear a distracting noise or something else occurs to knock us back into reality, back we go. With practice you will be able to control your return better.
I find it interesting that you were visiting your mother-in-law and not someone in your own genetic family. Evidently, you and your husband got married for reasons that are even deeper than love. His family’s interest in “psychic stuff” will nurture your children in such matters and help them to grow into their own abilities.
You’ll never have to be concerned that when your daughter visits them, she’ll be discouraged from exploring her own psychic life and power. My parents encouraged me to develop my psychic senses in a time when it wasn’t nice to even discuss such things in public. Heck, it’s STILL not considered a great topic at the dinner table in some families!
Your kids will get to talk about it ALL and ask questions and read and study. This is going to give them such an edge in life! Talk with your husband about how you want to present this to your kiddos, so that you are united in your approach and ready to tell them their experiences are all natural and okay.
A word or two of warning: Geminis often have difficulty staying grounded in REAL LIFE. Don’t get so strung out on your ASTRAL life that you neglect what you’re doing here on Earth.
You are at the beginning of a long journey to learn where your power really lies. Try to be patient with this process and take your time.
