I’m a 37-year-old woman who is very unhappily married. For months now, I’ve had recurring dreams about babies. The baby is mine and varies in age, but it is always a boy. (In real life, I’ve had my children already: three boys and one girl.) Do you think this dream signifies a new life for me? I’m a strong spiritual person, but over the past five years, I’ve lost my way. I want out of my marriage and am finding comfort with a Capricorn man, but so far we just talk on the phone. My soul is so restless that I feel like it’s pacing up and down, waiting for me to do something but I don’t know what! I do struggle with depression; it’s linked to the unhappiness of my marriage. Nevertheless, my insecurities are keeping me here. I sense that I could have a good life with this Capricorn man (he’s like my father), but I’m afraid because he’s making me wait a few more weeks until he’s ready. I have tried to deny my hunger for a new life but I’m dying inside. My Capricorn man tells me to follow my heart. What do you think these dreams are trying to tell me?

Susyn:
Dreams of babies often indicate a new beginning or the start of a new cycle. It sounds like you are ready to make some important changes in your life, and have some idea of what would truly make you happy.
As a spiritual person, you know that all change begins within. If you have been unable to make the psychic and emotional changes that are necessary before you can take action, a few simple steps should help you start manifesting the life you want to create.
It’s important that you are clear in your mind before moving ahead. First, the changes you want to make cannot be dependent on another person. Though these changes may affect other people, your strong desire to change partners has not resulted in any kind of progress. This is because you are not moving with spiritual truth but rather targeting your husband as the cause of your unhappiness and this Capricorn man as your possible salvation. When you let go of these ideas and focus within, you will empower yourself to create change.
While babies can signify a new beginning in dreams, you should also keep in mind that a baby needs guidance, nurturing and support. To create the changes you long for, you will have to build a stronger connection to Spirit so you can rely on the Universe to dictate the time, manner and nature of these changes.
To start the process of building your new life, I strongly recommend you begin to journal and meditate on a regular basis. Keep a daily journal so you can write your thoughts and dreams down. The process of writing allows you to get your surface thoughts out of your head and down on paper so that deeper insights can make their way into your conscious awareness. Write about how you might go about making the changes you desire, and carry these thoughts through to what might happen after those changes are in place.
Many believe that leaving one partner for another will bring the happiness they long for, but unless youíve done the inner work to prepare for it and can trust the Capricorn who has caught your attention, you will end up in the same circumstances before long. Because the Capricorn is now hesitating, you must be clear that you are making changes for yourself in case he does not become a part of your future.
It may help to create a mission statement about how you want your life to be and then meditate on it twice a day. Sit quietly and repeat your dream over and over, asking for spiritual direction. If it is truly time for you to move forward, Spirit will offer you guidance and begin to open doors for you with little to no effort on your part.

Mata:
Dreaming of babies does indeed often signify a new cycle of life or new qualities emerging from within. If you dream of a baby of the opposite sex, you may be dreaming about qualities you are not consciously aware of yet; if you dream of a baby of the same sex, these are things you are consciously working on or at least aware of.
Since you didn’t tell us much about these dreams aside from the fact that they are about babies, I can only offer you some possible interpretations and let you take it from there.
Instead of new personal qualities, it’s possible that the baby in these dreams represents the new lover you mentioned. This would especially be true if he was your child in a past life. In this scenario, your subconscious mind is telling you that you already know this man from another time and place. The baby in these dreams could also represent the new relationship you’re developing with him.
When trying to interpret dreams, many people focus first and foremost on trying to decipher what various symbols may represent. In my experience, it is far more helpful to determine the overall feeling of the dream before you try to determine what it may be about, for how you feel about what is happening in the dream is the key to determining its general message.
With this in mind, I recommend you focus first and foremost on how these dreams make you feel. As part of this process, it’s helpful to come up with a theme for each dream. One way to do this is to give each dream a title much as you might for a book or movie.
This is usually enough to make the meaning or message of a dream jump right out at you. If you’re still not clear, however, you can write down all the details you can remember from the dream using key words, and then as you ponder each of these words, just free associate whatever comes to mind and write those words and phrases down too.
Next, link these two together by asking yourself how you feel about the various people and elements you’ve written down. If you’re excited and in love with this baby, that is obviously a good sign about the direction you’re moving in your life. If, however, you feel overwhelmed with having the responsibility of yet another (male) person who is relying on you to meet all his needs, that could mean something entirely different.
If none of these suggestions yield the clarity you’re longing for, you can always take a more active role in your dream life by asking for a dream about this dream or a dream that relays the same message this one is trying to deliver but via different symbols and metaphors.
Astrea:
Many times in life we hear, “You will always have what you NEED, but not necessarily what you WANT.” Your spirit must have needed to experience the feeling of leaving your human body, and the suggestion in the next chapter of Sylvia Brown’s book was all it took to get you there.
Even though you hadn’t read it yet, your SOUL recognized the title of that chapter as something it had been seeking, and your soul, knowing that you had that reference to read after your experience, got with it and out you went!
While I don’t usually recommend her books, Sylvia Brown has a wide reaching and powerful effect on lots of people. A Gemini like you would be able to relate easily to her writing and put it to good use. Synchronicity – you gotta love it!
I like your description of “getting caught.” That’s exactly what it feels like, isn’t it? One minute you’re free and hovering above the room, and the next minute, ZAP! back down into your corporeal form you go!
As a little kid, I loved that “feeling of return.” With practice, most of the time we can control that event, but sometimes, when our physical ears hear a distracting noise or something else occurs to knock us back into reality, back we go. With practice you will be able to control your return better.
I find it interesting that you were visiting your mother-in-law and not someone in your own genetic family. Evidently, you and your husband got married for reasons that are even deeper than love. His family’s interest in “psychic stuff” will nurture your children in such matters and help them to grow into their own abilities.
You’ll never have to be concerned that when your daughter visits them, she’ll be discouraged from exploring her own psychic life and power. My parents encouraged me to develop my psychic senses in a time when it wasn’t nice to even discuss such things in public. Heck, it’s STILL not considered a great topic at the dinner table in some families!
Your kids will get to talk about it ALL and ask questions and read and study. This is going to give them such an edge in life! Talk with your husband about how you want to present this to your kiddos, so that you are united in your approach and ready to tell them their experiences are all natural and okay.
A word or two of warning: Geminis often have difficulty staying grounded in REAL LIFE. Don’t get so strung out on your ASTRAL life that you neglect what you’re doing here on Earth.
You are at the beginning of a long journey to learn where your power really lies. Try to be patient with this process and take your time.
