I’ve read that when a person has a transplant, they can sometimes take on cellular memories from the organ. Can the same thing happen with blood transfusions? I had one 16 years ago; could I be picking up stuff from the donors? There must have been two donors because there were two bags. It seems like I’m getting memories from way more past lives than I’ve lived, but maybe I have lived many times. I can’t be in two places at the same time though, right? I’ve done some past life regressions and there seem to be some overlaps. Your thoughts?

Susyn:

You pose an interesting question. Much as been documented on people’s experiences when receiving a transplanted organ. In many cases, it seems the recipient started to take on the mannerisms, memories and quirks of the donor.

An excellent illustration of this phenomenon can be found in the 1994 film of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein starring Robert De Niro. Since he is composed of the body parts of criminals and the mind of a brilliant professor, Frankenstein struggles to make sense of his new incarnation and his uncontrollable urge to commit monstrous acts.

We must assume that the same thing could happen via a blood transfusion. If a person receives blood from someone with a disease like hepatitis or AIDS, they may develop that disease. It could be that when bodily fluids are transferred from one person to another, the recipient can take on the subtle energies and even memories of the person those fluids originated from.

We’ve all lived many lives before. People sometimes do experience overlap when researching their past lives, by which I mean they have memories from more than one life from the same historic period. As not all of these people have had blood transfusions or received transplanted organs, there must be some other reason for this overlap.

Scientists have suggested that we carry the memories of our ancestors in our DNA. Just as we may inherit cellular memories through an organ transplant, we were born with memories from centuries past as handed down from our parents, grandparents, etc. When gathering information about their past lives, some people mix up their own past life memories with those of their ancestors.

Finding out more about the people who donated the blood for your transfusions would be next to impossible, so there is no way to compare notes with them regarding the things you are experiencing. Sadly, the same would be true for most organ transplants. However, the majority of your past life experiences are most likely rooted in your own experiences and those of your ancestors, which would make all of them personal to you.

We are still learning much both scientifically and metaphysically. With each new advance and discovery, even more questions about the true nature of our bodies, minds and spirits seem to arise. At some point, we will hopefully be able to combine scientific and spiritual discoveries and begin to unravel life’s endless mysteries.

Mata:

I read your question with great interest, for I have heard many fascinating stories about people who took on the memories and mannerisms of organ donors, but I’ve never heard of this happening with blood transfers. However, it makes perfect sense that if this can occur with an organ, it can occur with blood.

Ultimately, everything is energy: if we can contract a disease from a blood donation, we can pick up subtle energies from the donor such as the cellular memories you describe, so your theory about taking on the past life memories of your donors seems viable to me. However, there are other possible explanations for all the memories you’ve been experiencing.

Regarding the issue of overlap in past lives, you’ve revealed a big assumption that needs to be questioned: you are viewing time in a linear manner. If you view all lives as taking place simultaneously with time as a dimension much like space, you can see how you could be living one life in France in the year 1801 and another life in China in the same year. So basically, it may be that you actually can be in two or more places at the same time!

I think it’s fascinating to ponder that we may be living other lives in other dimensions right now. I am most fascinated by stories from people who report being contacted by a being who turned out to be themselves either from the future or past in this life or from another life altogether. In those encounters, it usually seems to be the case that the other self figured out how to travel to this life in order to relay some important message or information.

If you can get past viewing time in a linear manner, it will also help you understand how we could have contact with a loved one who has died even though that person many have already reincarnated. When we remember that we are multi-faceted, multi-dimensional beings, all sorts of incredible things become possible.

If you’d like to engage in some deep reflection on the nature of time (and you’re not averse to a good cry), watch the movie The Time Traveler’s Wife, in which the protagonist spontaneously travels backward and forward in time. The main difference between what happens in the film and what I’m suggesting here is in the film, when the main character traveled to a different time, he disappeared from where he had been for there was just one of him. In the scenario I’m describing, we may have many selves having many different experiences in many different dimensions.

Astrea:

Many times in life we hear, “You will always have what you NEED, but not necessarily what you WANT.” Your spirit must have needed to experience the feeling of leaving your human body, and the suggestion in the next chapter of Sylvia Brown’s book was all it took to get you there.

Even though you hadn’t read it yet, your SOUL recognized the title of that chapter as something it had been seeking, and your soul, knowing that you had that reference to read after your experience, got with it and out you went!

While I don’t usually recommend her books, Sylvia Brown has a wide reaching and powerful effect on lots of people. A Gemini like you would be able to relate easily to her writing and put it to good use. Synchronicity – you gotta love it!

I like your description of “getting caught.” That’s exactly what it feels like, isn’t it? One minute you’re free and hovering above the room, and the next minute, ZAP! back down into your corporeal form you go!

As a little kid, I loved that “feeling of return.” With practice, most of the time we can control that event, but sometimes, when our physical ears hear a distracting noise or something else occurs to knock us back into reality, back we go. With practice you will be able to control your return better.

I find it interesting that you were visiting your mother-in-law and not someone in your own genetic family. Evidently, you and your husband got married for reasons that are even deeper than love. His family’s interest in “psychic stuff” will nurture your children in such matters and help them to grow into their own abilities.

You’ll never have to be concerned that when your daughter visits them, she’ll be discouraged from exploring her own psychic life and power. My parents encouraged me to develop my psychic senses in a time when it wasn’t nice to even discuss such things in public. Heck, it’s STILL not considered a great topic at the dinner table in some families!

Your kids will get to talk about it ALL and ask questions and read and study. This is going to give them such an edge in life! Talk with your husband about how you want to present this to your kiddos, so that you are united in your approach and ready to tell them their experiences are all natural and okay.

A word or two of warning: Geminis often have difficulty staying grounded in REAL LIFE. Don’t get so strung out on your ASTRAL life that you neglect what you’re doing here on Earth.

You are at the beginning of a long journey to learn where your power really lies. Try to be patient with this process and take your time.
